Ollo, This week was awesome!
We went on lots of splits so that we could try and teach everybody that we are
working with. I like it when we are busy enough that we have to have other
people help us out to do everything that we need to do. It has been the busiest
week of my mission so far and I am hoping next week will be even busier!
Saturday was Cooper
and Aubrey's baptisms and Elder Betham's birthday; so we did stuff with people
we know and Cooper and Aubrey.
Cooper was baptized
and confirmed and we went bowling with their family after the ordinances. Which
was fun. They had lots of family there which was cool too!
For Aubrey's baptism I
played the piano (that will make Mom proud). I think it is only the 2nd or 3rd
time that I have played the piano on my mission. It was really neat having her
family there too. Her friend who is leaving on a mission was there too and the
people who have gone on splits with us teaching her came too. On Sunday, I
was the one that confirmed her into the church which was a big honor. It is the
first time that I have done it for someone outside of the temple. I don't
remember what I said but I do remember feeling the spirit when doing it.
I went on exchange
briefly in Richfield with Elder Moore; we were walking around and stumbled into
a recently returned missionary from Hawaii who then went and taught with us the
rest of the night-- because he was with us we were able to talk with a lady
that knew him before he left on his mission!
I finished reading the
Doctrine and Covenants again too which was cool! I thought it was really neat
how much the end of it is about the temple and the plan of salvation! I just
love learning and reading and lots of other cool things!
I am sure I am
forgetting other stuff too! There is just so much to write about that it is
easy to forget lots of the little cool things that happen everyday!
Also, on Tuesday I got
a call saying that my Visa has gone through so I will be flying to Brazil on January
20th (stepping on the first plane at 6:49 am)and will get there
sometime on the 21st (stepping off the last plane at 1:50 pm)! I have
loved serving in Utah (and it is sad to go) and I am excited to serve in Brazil
too! :)
Tchau! Thcau!
Com muitos sorrisos!
:) :) :) :) :) :) :) :) :)
Sincerely, Elder
Vernon :)
